Playground to Prison - True Crime Documentary
In this re-release of an award-winning real crime documentary film, this film looks back at the case of Paul and Colt and the story behind their gripping juvenile cases in a small midwest town. The film includes interviews with police, family members, attorneys and the boys themselves, and follows their plight in prison as they grow up behind bars. It also includes an update on how the boys are doing today.
UPDATE: Colt was released from prison in 2019 after 10 years behind bars and is doing very well today. He continues to give back by giving public speeches to schools and universities, hoping to prevent other youth from experiencing life in the system.

Single moms stop putting men first. Dad’s need to be reminded that just because you divorce a woman doesn’t mean you divorce your kid. That boy should not have gone years without seeing his father. Divorced Dads should be seeing their kids every day even if it’s giving rides to school or activities. Kids need both biological parents. If both parents were involved with this kid this could have been prevented. Such a tragedy on so many levels.

He stands up well on the stand, almost never hesitates to answer a question or takes time to come up with a lie , communicates clearly without a bunch of slang or disrespect and doesn't react negativity or take offense to the prosecutors constant disdain and suspicious questions and comments. His story made sense and feels sincere. He comes off as humble and able to receive criticism. I like this kid and I think that he has a positive future coming to him as long as he can stay out of trouble and trouble doesn't come looking for him.

This is crazy. They are training these boys to go into the military when half of our men that come back from combat are on drugs. It is well known amongst the brass yet some choose to turn away. Some of them were injured and became addicted. Others used it to help them deal with the horrific scenes they have to see. These kids will go back to what they were put in jail for. Some of them will be able to overcome the experience and will make something of their lives. What they need to do is get those cartel leaders and the people that are funding them. Where do they get their weapons? There has to be some people with a lot of money and power that are drugging Americans.

Wtf she said that hes not a danger to anyone yet lets take him away from his family instead of getting the whole FAMILY help. Theres no way that Morris is just a stinker and that the root of his anger has nothing to do with his home and family. Theres a very long interview with Morris and he sheds a lot of light on his home life and his relationships with his family members and its obvious to me that his family would benefit greatly from programs and counseling. I hate to bring race into but I am curious what other think about the differences in the treatment of children going through the court system because I have seen a few cases that seem to show less empathy and desire to help children of color. I hope that i am wrong

Keandre! No! I was rooting for the both of you but I enjoyed the humor in some of the things you did and was really hoping that you could find humor in doing good by yourself and by your momma. I will say it wasn't lost on me that you hadn't seen your mom in a year even though you were just 20 miles away and it made me wonder if you really were going to have the amount of support you truly needed. And I was wondering if you would have been better off staying a few more months to a year if it meant that you would be stronger rather than getting out when you did and risk not being ready.

Would they have killed this man if they didn't have access to guns? Would they have stabbed him or strangled him? I do believe that it was the two boys and they each went through with it thinking they had to because the other one was going to do it. Whatever the truth is, this was a stupid senseless crime.

1:19:51 I appreciate this man Donald Wruck he is the best as far as I can tell the mannerisms and the way he is speaking and also looking out for the child and the child's best interests and he is being compassionate he is caring and being a part of the solution and not part of the problem. So I tip my hat to this fellow for sure and I wish there were more people like him in this dark lost world!!!! Also would like to add the place that this young boy is or went to it sounds amazing and better for the child and I will keep these folks and this young boy in my prayers this is the second video I have watched so far and I am absolutely loving this channel and I have subscribed and put this in my favorites! My perception of Colt has really changed after watching this. I used to think he was just an innocent boy but he was old enough to know what he was doing and also premeditated it. Also talked others into it to not be alone. He could've reached out to police, teachers, or anybody really if he was abused at home. At 15 you know what murder is and how serious it is.

Trying a 12 year old as an adult is the dumbest shit I ever saw. WOW! What about justice? I just don't get it, even the 15 year old shouldn't be maybe. He had power over the 12 year old... I wont ruin the end now that I watched it all in case someone reads first. I think that the US system too often has no heart or sense of justice and trying to overturn or stop a railroad job is so hard at any age. Watch the Movie HURRICANE with Danzel Washington. Even if you were wronged in trial or arrest overturning it is a beast of a fight and it shouldn't be. The system eats people and sleeps fine at night so I don't expect much change.
